13 No-Fuss Fall Accessories

Summer, it’s been real. But I’m making room for autumn. The warm-hued makeup palettes and 5-layer outfits are just as exciting as the pumpkin-flavored menu items and brand new season premieres. (C’mon, Shonda Rhimes!) While I revel in fall fashion, I think certain accessories can seem a bit impractical. Wide-brimmed wool hats are romantic, unless you’re sitting behind one during your 9:00am lecture. And suede booties are just asking to be rained on. For that reason, I’ve put together a list of accessories that are easy to find, easy to style and easy on the wallet.

Poolside Chillin’: My Favorite Plus-Size Swimsuits

Can you believe it’s already July? Insane, right? That means that unless you live in an awfully warm area, your days by the pool are numbered. Still, I thought I’d share a roundup of my favorite swimsuits for women with curves.

While there are quite a few online shopping destinations dedicated to plus-sized women, the amount of sites that offer swimwear are few and far between. I probably won’t be sporting any swimwear this summer—that’s a self-love/body positivity conversation for another day—but I hope that I can help make the search a little bit easier for some. (Comment below and let me know where you shop for curvy swimsuits, or which piece is your favorite!)

Back In Session

It’s that time of year again, when we trade in our beach towels for backpacks and our leftover summer plans get tucked under alarm clocks until Spring Break. The back-to-schoool season is upon us, and there’s nothing we can do about it. Well, there is one thing. I find that one way to cushion the blow of fifteen (or more) credit hours is to have something fly to wear to each and every one of them. (more…)

The Blueprint

The Blueprint

I’m normally a pretty neutral dresser–blacks, whites, grays, browns, denims. But every season, I find myself obsessing over a certain, unusual hue on the color wheel. This past spring, it was tangerine orange. This was especially interesting because, ever since Nickelodeon painted the screen with the plasticky pigment, I’ve hated the color orange. But I found myself inexplicably gravitating toward it in every store. I bought a bright orange blazer and an orange sleeveless top, frequently rocked coral-orange eyeshadow and nail polish, and even bought an orange lipstick.

While I was home for the weekend, I had to make a Forever 21 run. (Since the shopping in my college town is less than limited, it would be a sin not to.) And I stumbled upon this stunning Blue Man Group-colored scarf that I just had to have. I also eyeballed an electric blue cross-body bag, and some royal blue nail polish, and realized, I’ve found my shade for the season: bright, cobalt blue. (more…)

Poll It Up, Poll It Up!

If Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has taught me anything, it’s that asking your audience for assistance is almost never a bad idea. So, I’ve decided to enlist your help on a decision. Thanks to Gal Meets Glam and ShoeMint, I recently won a free pair of shoes up to $79.98, (which could not be more perfect, because I almost never buy shoes and I can’t remember the last time I dropped that much on a pair). Problem is, the ShoeMint site is just crawling with gorgeous footwear, so I can’t decide on the perfect pair. That’s why I need your help. I’m going to post the shoes I’m hopelessly stuck between, and I want you all to vote on which pair I should select. (more…)
